Arbeitsbeschreibung

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to ensure reliable data flow and optimize data architecture for analytics and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines for batch and real-time data processing

  • Integrate data from various sources (databases, APIs, streaming platforms) into centralized data warehouses or lakes

  • Optimize data systems for performance, reliability, and scalability

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and provide solutions

  • Implement data governance, quality, and security best practices

  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, ensuring minimal downtime

  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes and workflows

  • Document data engineering processes, pipelines, and architecture

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift)

  • Experience with big data tools and platforms such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, or similar

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP and their data services (e.g., S3, BigQuery, Data Factory)

  • Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT concepts

  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Luigi) is a plus

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
