For our restaurant in Alkmaar, the Netherlands, we are looking for a Chef II with at least 3 years of experience and affinity with Georgian cuisine.
In this position, you will be responsible for the daily organization and execution of kitchen operations and for maintaining the culinary standards of the restaurant.
You will coordinate food preparation and service, supervise kitchen staff, and ensure high standards of quality, planning, consistency, and efficiency throughout the kitchen.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage daily kitchen operations
- Prepare, cook, and serve dishes from Georgian cuisine according to established recipes
- Monitor the taste, presentation, quality, and consistency of dishes
- Prepare work schedules and staff rosters and ensure sufficient kitchen staffing
- Manage purchasing and inventory of ingredients
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, occupational health, and food safety regulations
- Train, supervise, and support kitchen employees
- Contribute to menu optimization and seasonal menu adjustments
Requirements
- Professional working and thinking level appropriate for a Chef II position (MBO Level 4 / higher professional level or equivalent)
- Demonstrable experience as a head chef, chef, or independently working cook at a comparable level
- Knowledge of and affinity with Georgian cuisine
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience coordinating and supervising kitchen operations
- Able to work independently and perform well under pressure
- Strong focus on quality and consistency
- Good organizational and leadership skills
Employment Conditions
- Full-time position – 38 hours per week
- Gross salary: €3,400 – €3,900 per month, depending on experience
- Salary above the applicable Dutch Hospitality Collective Labour Agreement (Horeca CAO)
- Employment contract in accordance with Dutch employment regulations
- Workplace in the historic city centre of Alkmaar, the Netherlands
