Position Overview
We are seeking part-time In-House Counsellors to support our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services. This role combines clinical counselling delivery with first-response support for inbound assistance calls.
Counsellors will work approximately 20 hours per week (around 80 hours per month). The time will be dedicated to EAP intake and first-responder duties (including participation in a duty roster covering days, evenings, nights, and weekends (pre-scheduled or on a rotating basis) and clinical counselling sessions. The exact distribution of time dedicated to each of the roles will be mutually agreed.
In this role, you will conduct assessments, provide short-term solution-focused counselling, and develop tailored support plans for beneficiaries. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of experts, you will play an essential role in supporting individuals as they navigate personal and professional challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Counselling
- Deliver short-term psychological counselling to EAP beneficiaries
- Conduct initial assessments to understand beneficiarie’s needs and concerns.
- Provide solution-focused counselling interventions aimed at stabilizing and supporting individuals.
- Develop tailored support and action plans for clients.
- Refer beneficiaries to specialized services or external providers when longer-term or specialized care is required.
- Maintain accurate, confidential case documentation in the internal secure system.
EAP First Responder Support
- Respond to inbound assistance calls and provide immediate support to callers.
- Conduct needs assessments and evaluate the caller’s situation.
- Determine eligibility for program services and provide guidance on policies and procedures.
- Develop an appropriate support plan based on the caller’s needs.
- Offer brief telephonic counselling and emotional support where appropriate.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of interactions in the internal case management system.
Operational Support
- Participate in the duty roster, which may include day, evening, night, and weekend shifts.
- Support EAP intake processes and service coordination during assigned shifts.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain high standards of service quality.
- Collaborate with internal teams and specialists to ensure comprehensive support for beneficiaries.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor and Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field.
- Experience in mental health counselling, social services, or a comparable support environment.
- Experience providing short-term counselling or crisis support is an advantage.
- Experience with telephone or online counselling is considered a plus.

Language Requirements
- Professional working proficiency in Swedish
- Professional working proficiency in English
- Professional working proficiency in other languages is a plus
